About Us
Our Purpose & Approach
WaterScope's mission is to enable inclusive access to smart, easy-to-use, and reliable testing for bacterial presence in drinking water.
Since our conception in 2015, we have designed and developed our water testing system specifically for and with end-users. Our testing process maintains scientific integrity whilst remaining low-cost, user-friendly, and effective across various environments.
Our prototype design is now complete and we are presently seeking implementation partners, funding for further development and opportunities to scale.
Background
Founded in 2015, WaterScope is a "spin-in" social impact start-up based at the University of Cambridge. Our founding team is comprised of biologists, physicists, material scientists and engineers who helped develop, design and iterate the WaterScope® system.
So far we have raised more than £900,000 in non-dilutive funding, which has enabled us to employ full-time staff members and expand our team to include product designers, software engineers, and communications and partnership personnel.
