Participatory development in Ethiopia
June 2023
Our team travelled to Addis Ababa to both conduct field trials across the city and carry out workshops and training sessions with local stakeholders.
Over 81 samples were collected across the city from a variety of sources. We focused on validating the implementation of our new UV sterilisation method which aims to remove the occurrence of false positive tests.
Additionally we delivered three fully equipped testing systems to Action Against Hunger (ACF) and trained their staff on how best to conduct water tests with the WaterScope system.
We then conducted an interactive development and training session with stakeholders including local government representatives, equipment distributers, local universities, and local charities. Valuable feedback from the session has allowed us to continue improving the WaterScope system and adapting it to the needs of its users.
